Common import and export elements

This section describes the XML elements that appear in imports and exports.

The export includes additional elements. For more information about export elements, see Export Elements.

The CRF is a multi-purpose format. Although the XSD might indicate that an element or attribute is optional, the element may actually be required for the file to serve its purpose for a particular use case. For example, although the EndRead attribute is optional when sending contiguous interval readings, if the use case is to send all daily intervals plus the end register read from one system to another, then the EndRead needs to be populated to fulfill the use case.

Note: This section describes the elements and attributes that are included in the Itron Common Reading Format (CRF). Some applications do not use all of the functionality that is supported by the CRF. For example, some applications do not create resubmit files for readings that fail to import. In those cases, the CreateResubmitFile attribute of the ImportExportParameters element is ignored, even if the attribute is present in the import file.
