CEF schemas

Itron provides the following schema for the common event format interface.

• CEF v1.0
• CEF v2.0

Both schema are available and are used by various Itron products. However, CEF v2.0 is not backward-compatible with CEF v1.0.

The schema are designed to be flexible to support the requirements of many applications. Most of the elements are not required for the XML to validate against the schema. Each application can define the event data that is required and optional for any given import or export.
