Introduction

The Consumer Energy Stream (CES) data product allows electricity meter consumption data from a consumer's meter to stream to an Itron-authenticated receiver over the consumer's internet connection and wireless network to a utility's consumer application and third-party data subscribers who offer products and services to consumers.

This document describes how to subscribe to meter data and exceptions to deliver a consumer product, how to manage subscriber access to meter data through a consumer's consent to collect their meter's consumption data, and provides information on how to use the exceptions subscription to operate and manage your service or product.

Consumer Energy Stream (CES) is made up of:

  • Components in the Intelligent Edge Operating System (IEOS), including APIs. For more information, see APIs.

  • The ConsumerEnergyStream edge application installed on edge devices from the Itron Enterprise Application Center (EAC).

    • This edge application is composed of the ConsumerEnergyStream agent
